Kingston Chamber Music Festival

The Kingston Chamber Music Festival is delighted to welcome back violist Che-Hung Chen for the Festival’s 38th Season. A longtime member of The Philadelphia Orchestra and one of KCMF’s returning artists, Chen will be featured in Concerts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, bringing his exceptional artistry and collaborative spirit to audiences throughout the Festival.Chen joined The Philadelphia Orchestra at just 20 years old, becoming the first Taiwanese citizen ever to join the ensemble. A graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music, he is also the founding violist of the internationally acclaimed Daedalus Quartet, winner of the Banff International String Quartet Competition. Throughout his distinguished career, he has appeared as a soloist, chamber musician, and guest principal violist with leading orchestras and festivals across North America and abroad.An accomplished chamber musician, Chen has performed at renowned festivals including Marlboro Music, Ravinia, Caramoor, Bridgehampton, Saratoga, and Music from Angel Fire. His passion for chamber music continues through ensembles including the Clarosa Piano Quartet and Quartet Iris, while his dedication to education is reflected in his role on the faculty of Temple University’s Esther Boyer College of Music.We invite audiences to experience Che-Hung Chen’s remarkable musicianship July 24th- August 2nd in Kingston, RI..
