The Kingston Chamber Music Festival is proud to participate in 401Gives, Rhode Island’s largest statewide day of giving for nonprofit organizations. In 2026, 401Gives will take place from March 31 at 6:00 a.m. through April 1 at 6:00 p.m., bringing together thousands of donors to support local nonprofits that strengthen communities through education, arts, and service. Donations to Kingston Chamber Music Festival made during 401Gives help provide scholarships, free concert tickets, and performance opportunities for students attending the URI Summer Music Academy’s two-week summer program at the University of Rhode Island.
Through the Kingston Chamber Music Festival’s partnership with the URI Summer Music Academy, young musicians have the opportunity to study with world-class artists, build confidence in their musical abilities, and collaborate with peers from across Rhode Island and New England. Students participate in masterclasses led by KCMF’s distinguished performers. In past years this has included artists such as the GRAMMY-nominated Dover Quartet, clarinetist Ricardo Morales, and flutist Jennifer Grim. This season students will experience a lecture demonstration with the Terra String Quartet, a Q&A with violinist and Olympic medalist Elizabeth Beisel, as well as masterclasses with Clancy Newman (cellist), Eric Huckins (french horn) and Zachary DePue (violin). These experiences provide valuable insight into the professional classical music world while developing both technical mastery and the collaborative skills essential to chamber music.
Donations made during 401Gives help provide scholarships, free concert tickets, and performance opportunities for students attending the Academy’s two-week summer program at the University of Rhode Island. Campers share what they have learned during a special pre-concert showcase at the Kingston Chamber Music Festival and attend concerts throughout the festival to see their mentors perform as professional chamber musicians.
By supporting KCMF during 401Gives, you help ensure that the next generation of conductors, composers, and musicians have access to meaningful musical education and mentorship.
