Recipient of the 2018 Kingston Chamber Music Festival Scholarship Award, Collin Tyrrell is a versatile bass and tenor trombonist based in Southern New England. A native of East Bridgewater, Massachusetts, he performs widely in orchestral, chamber, and contemporary settings, with recent appearances including the Boston Civic Orchestra, the New England Repertory Orchestra, and the Block Island Sound brass quintet. Collin holds a B.M. in Orchestral Performance from the University of Rhode Island and an M.M. in Brass Performance from Boston University, and he is an advocate for new music, having commissioned several works including State of Mind by Katherine Loo. In addition to his freelance career, he maintains a private teaching studio for low brass students across the region.
