We’re looking forward to our summer festival! Over the next few weeks, we’ll introduce each artist performing in our 36th season. Cellist Pitnarry Shin will play on July 24th, 26th, and 28th.
Praised in Strad magazine for her beautiful tone and passionate interpretations in her New York debut recital at Weill Hall, Carnegie Hall, Shin has toured throughout the United States, Europe, and her native Korea, performing with orchestras and at international festivals. A recipient of a Fulbright Grant to Germany, she was guest Co-Principal Cellist with the London Symphony Orchestra and Acting Principal of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra. She currently serves as an artistic director of the Bakken Ensemble and plays cello with the Minnesota Orchestra.
During her KCMF debut this summer, she will play a range of repertoire: from Robert Schumann’s Piano Quintet in E-flat Major to Ittai Rosenbaum’s Quintet for Mandolin and String Quartet. She’ll join violinist – and her husband – Kyu-Young Kim for Erwin Schulhoff’s Duo for Violin and Cello.
